Question Rattling in the dash

Is anyone else getting a rattling in their dash or am I just OCD? It's bugging the hell out of me.. it's probably normal.

I think you are the first one on here to complain about a rattling dash. Interior build quality on the Cobalt is excellent overall, so perhaps something in your dash was not properly tightened at the factory.

See if you can locate where exactly the rattle is coming from. Perhaps we can pinpoint it and you can address whatever is causing it, if not you may want to take it into the dealer for a checkup

It seems to be comming from behind the glove box. I opened the box and examined it as well as I could and did not find anything in there to be making noise.. which brings me to the conclusion that it is infact behind it.

I'm also experiencing some vibration in material in the rear of the car right side. It will vibrate when I go over bumps in the road, and it will vibrate more noticeably when the stereo up.

I did find a loose screw in the car the other day which fell from the rear seat when I pushed it down into the cargo configuration. That might have something to do with the vibration I'm hearing.

The cables from the rear seatback releases in the trunk tend to make a rattlling sound. They are not tied down well, and I don't even see any grommits or anything where the cables go through the metal frame of the trunk towards the seats.

Car & Driver's review of the Cobalt also mentioned a distant rattle from deep in the dash.
