Rear Quarter Panel Replacement - Not Going Well.

So how long do you thin it would take to replace a rear quarter panel on a 2007 cobalt 2.2 coupe?
According to GM 24 working hours...according to the GM body shop it has taken 7 business days so far, even though the parts were preordered.
Not to mention, my quarter panel had been off the car and on the floor for 4 days, and thats where it's at now, I just keep getting told the guy is working on it...
Total run around, can't even get ahold of the manager over the GM body shop.
My question for you all, what would you do quoted 5 biz days but has turned into 10 biz days, and i'm paying for the rental car out of my pocket, and they are no further on it then they were last wed.

Anyone have a similiar exp?
By the way, it's a huge chevy delearship here in the texas metroplex area.

IF anyone has any ideas or suggestions for me, please help~

well...it is a weld on piece...so it does take a decent amount of time (especially if you screw it up while you are doing it).

what dealership is it??

well so far we are at 33 hours just for the guy to try to get the new one on, and it's not even painted or primed or anything. So far they have had my car for 56 buisness hours and saying it won't be completed untill 80 business hours.

Classic Cheverlet in Grapevine.

Ive been getting the run around, they changed the estimated finished time 3 times so far, all about 3 days from each other.

What all did they have to do to it?

The messed up thing is, I can't even talk to the manager, he wont call me, they say they don't have any loaner's either or anything, blows my mind, they huge of a dealership and they don't have one car setting around I could use till' friday. pretty sad.
costing me $27 a day outa pocket on my rental car.

All I gotta say is if anyone needs any body work done, stay away from this place, have gotten nothing but the run around, and they don't care about you as a customer, only how many cars they can take in.

Yeah I didn't even relise I didn't have rental coverege untill I had this issue.

man wtf, u know, what happened to takeing care of your customer because they are the ones paying your bills, it's really sad, I had a choice of like 20 other places, but I figured, big GM dealer, gm certified, auto body repair certified, I figured it should go smoothly.

ha! the only good thing is, its on GM record, so if you ever have issues you can take it to any GM dealer....but, other than that...its a PITA!!!!

what you need to do is go to the manager of the whole dealership have a little talk with them say you are payin out of pocket and that you expect them to pay for the rental car because they are past their quote time

been there before. it took my ss sc 3 weeks before it was ready to be given back to me. they tell you one thing and then change their minds about when it will be ready. bottom line is dont rush them or it will come out looking like ass. mine you cant even tell it was replaced. im on my phone now but later ill post pics and go into more detail. expect probably another week or two until its done.

Well as an update to anyone who cares, I went to pick up my car today, 15 days after drop off, only to find, the bottom part of the quarter panel was missing paint, still had weld spots which were painted over but barely, and news paper stuck to the paint under it, my tire has some sort of epoxy stuff all over it, "was a new gforce tire" the top peice that runs from the door all the way to the back window was still pushed a quarter of a inch back past where it was suppose to be, they got grease all over my back seats and made a very poor attempt to shampoo it out, the interior of the car was covered in dust from the work they did "they did not cover up any of my car while grinding and cutting the quarter panel or welding, so the back of my back seats has holes burnt in them, because the back window was removed, the inside panel that goes around the back glass is all chewed up on the edges where it appears they placed the window in and pryed it into place without removing the panel first. The list goes on, what a nightmare, also the part that they missed painting they took it back in painted it and told me it would be fine after drying for 5 min. oh and the trunk interior carpet on the drivers side is missing it's clips now.
I think thats all I have noticed so far, they told me to bring it back tomorrow at lunch so the manager can look at it........

So lets see what happens I guess....

Any advice from anyone would be much appreciated!

Stab them in the face with a soldering iron!

My god if my SS was like that when I went to pick it up people would have been killed.
