I believe the original one was for older models. Either they extended the model year coverage of the recall or its new for LNF's cause my LNF never had a pump recall until now.
Couldn't you have pulled the TSB number off of this site, googled it and printed out the letter that says you need to get the fuel pump fixed for leaking? If you smell fuel they should be able to smell it too and fix your fuel pump?
Question 2 : I believe that is correct , and someone here said that it should have been for all Balts, regardless of where sold. I agree, but then again, I am not the one making the decisions ...
Question 3 : Good Question, but it did catch your eye, huh ?

Mine reads that a defect exists in certain 2009 model year Cobalts originally sold or currently registered in certain high temperature states.
It also gives my VIN , and goes on to say that the issue is the plastic supply or return port on the fuel pump module, and that the module will be replaced. If it has been replaced previously it will be inspected to see if the replacement was also one of the suspect modules and it will be replaced (re-replaced ?
) if so.If you have already paid for these repairs there is a form enclosed that will allow you to be reimbursed although they suggest working through your dealer.
This form must be received by the GM Reimbursement Department by 01/31/2014.
I hope that answers this question.
