I'm trying to think of ideas to get rid of as much weight as possible? My cobalt will need to be some what street legal, but it was only supposed to be used on weekends if everything gos right with my beater car**

Any ideas on how to trim some weight off this lil moster?

Lighter wheels, and more CF parts, such as fenders and fashias (spelling). There is a company that will reproduce any part of your car in CF. Not sure what it costs, but most likely expensive.

like in that cobalt Street tuner challange car, how much of the dash u think i can take out, and how much u think that'll all weigh?

100lbs = 0.10 sec in 1/4 mile!
+
Better handeling!

At this point, i'm gunna be looking for any edge i can get!

get rid of power steering, power windows, power locks, heater, ac, replace your windows w/ plexi glass, get rid of your spoiler, shave your head and body hair and lose some weight.

don't put a wing on at all, get light weight racing seats since our stock seats weigh 100 for the two buckets. Take the AC parts out like the condensor, pump, and such. thats all i can think of at the moment. Oh and also get a light weight battery.

You also have your speakers, take all of them out and the sub. i'm sure you can keep the covers inthere so it doesn't look ghetto.

Nice , nice! thos are good! I don't even think i would mind that much taken out my A/C cuz i never use it in the summer, cuz it drains a lil power, + i ordered the Sunroof for a reason! How much u think the A/c weighs in at??

The window motors i was thinkin about, the driver side i think i could live w/o, the pass window i donno!

I was also thinkin replacing the Sunroof glass with CF, (i saw that some where)

and Poss takin out the sunroof motor, but prob not gunna go that far.

all the A/C stuff might be 50-75 lbs, just a guess but if you get all the lines and coolant out then i think it would be closer to 75. I'm pretty sure you can get some light weight seats that only weight 15 lbs each so thats a savings of 70 or so alone.

DUDE, U think thos Recaro's weigh that much??

DAMN! 70-lbs just with new seats is NUTS!!!!!

Thats sumin every 1 should be doin then!

as as far as i'm concerned, the A/C will be out just about as soon as i can doit. In my cavi, i think i used it 3 days outta 4 years. (every one of thos day i had a girl makin me use it) My dad always said the A/C drains Hp when ya use it, so i never used it! lol

Front Seats = 70lbs
A/C = 60 ish
-------------------------
130lbs = 0.13 sec

Wow you are really taking this serious. I couldn't imagine not using the A/C, but then again the summers here in AZ are in the triple digits.

ha, naa man, here in jersey, in an SS S/C, the shore should be about 45 min away for me! The option for the Sunroof isn't for nuttin lol. +, this was gunna be my only car (my every day car) but now, i might be able to repair my old beretta, and if i can, i can let the cobalt chill at the house most of the week, untill the weekend while i drive the retta during the week. if so, the Balt wont me driving all over the place, so i can kinda take it to the next level!!!

p.s any 1 know how to change your name?? (Co27sskid??) lol sorry, off topic

Thats what kinda bugs me about cars these days, you can only get the top performance model fully loaded. It increases weight and costs more, some people just want a fast car.

yea, its almost impossible to not have a/c here but if it didnt get that hot that would be the first thing I would do I have done it in every other car i owned cause the minimum weight at least 45lbs. and then your freeing up engine power with one less pulley to power!

I used to have a '67 VW Beetle that didn't have a heater or A/C. It SUCKED! You gotta have a/c in Arizona.
