retrofit headlights
retrofit headlights
so i bought a second pair of cobalt headlights, and im about to take under a sweet retrofit headlights. ive already taken them apart. But i have a few questions for people that know there HIDs.
How do i get the left over glue off or should i just deal with it?
What is a good cheap hi/low beam?
Does the projector housing need any form of reflective housing? Because i want it to be flush.
I want it to look like this. Except i want the projector to be flush and make a cover. Also i want to make the orange turn signal side section to be clear and not orange, and where i can find it or make it. Other then that i think this is basically what i want the retro to look like.

i guess this was to hard of a question, so i was able to answer it myself.
no the glue can stay on, it actually helps reseal.
e55 projectors seem to be the best deal and fitment.
and no you dont need a reflective housing. thanks retards.

also, if you can get someone to hold a hair dryer while you scrape off the glue, its probably one of the best ways to remove it. The glue comes off easily when its warm.
Yeah, you could take the chance by re-using the old sealant, I never do though. Just heat up the glue and run a flat-head screwdriver along the channel to remove old sealant... I usually do this when I remove the lens and the glue is still warm.
Yes the E55s are nice, FX35s are really nice too... usually just as cheap but more ability to modify the cutoff, if you are into that sort of thing.
Projectors come with a reflector bowl, so no need for a reflective housing for them.
Perhaps wait more than 12 hours (most of which people are sleeping) next time before calling everyone retards.... really makes people not want to help you at all.

So your looking to make some like these:

Leave the OEM adheasive on and just add some extra sealant before you put them back together. I have done a few sets and they hold up pretty good. The E55 projectors are easy to use but have an open housing so light will escape, but if you get a decent shroud off ebaylike the ones I used in the photos, they will cover them up nicely but need to be trimmed a little bit. They also look great with a clear lense swap as well. Just look up E55 shrouds and I suggest using retrofitsource he has best offers on most of his stuff and can be had at a pretty good price. I also suggest getting the 9007 wiring harness from him as well, but have to go to his website to order it. It will plug into the stock headlight plug and is pretty much all plug and play even has wires for the solenoid for the cutoff shield. Just make sure and order both at the same time cause he will give discount on shipping even if its on ebay and from his website. There is a forum on his website with some good info as well. Any questions just pm me.

my apologizes about the retard comment. I got in a fight with my wife and had to call someone an idiot.
Yea those look good and they have a different looking shroud on there as well. I am currently working on retrofitting some TL Bixenon projectors with clear lenses in the my headlights. Problem is they wont fit in the stock reflector bowl so I have to make a custom bracket that will pop onto the stock ball joints on the headlight and still retain some factory movement up and down. Should get interesting, but will be a sick pair of headlights when finished. Also using ss headlights that have slightly tinted lenses stock.
