Road and Track review on SS S/C SRT4 RSX S and Saleen Focus NO2

The review was a decent, everyone should check it out.

Results ran:
1) SRT 4
2) SS S/C
3) RSX S
4) Fuckus sorry (Focus)

The SS and the SRT4 were close. SRT4 was 190.9/100 and the SS was 190.1/100.

Is this the Sept issue for R&T? Cuz i haven't seen it yet in stores. I have the Aug issue with the type s vs. SS.

Yea, too bad the Saleen Focus is a poser. I think they look nice, and woulda been respectable cars, if Saleen actually upgraded the engine, instead of a gay ass body kit, and $25k sticker.

Awww don't feel too bad! I've always felt that the RSX is a very beautiful / classy car.

I think the RSX vs Cobalt test was a waste of paper. Those are the worst numbers I have ever seen from a CSS test ever.

15.9 second 0-100 What a load of crap.

it's nice to know that once you hook up the n2o in the saleen focus it voids your warranty.

it was SPEED mag. I don't know if its a part of R and T but.... I really like speed mag cause they accually test the cars and post what THEY accually get....

the order is correct... what they were trying to do was test all four types of 4 cylinder engines.

SRT-4 - Turbo
Cobalt SS- Supercharged
RSX S - High revving N/A
Saleen Focus N20 - Nitrous

They accually dyned all the cars and ran them in the quarter mile and got the following

SRT- 226hp 250lb tq - 14.4
Cobalt SS - 218hp 189lb tq - 14.8
RSX S - 171hp 140 lb tq - 15.0
Focus N20 - 170hp 200 lb tq - 15.2

If i remember correctly....

and it was out of a total of 200 points and it said if the SRT wasn't so much faster on the straight , the cobalt would have taken the number 1 spot. the final result numbers were...

SRT - 191.8
Cobalt - 191.1
RSX S - 188.?
Focus N2O - 155.?

and thats whats up....

I think they are part of R&T solely based on the fact that R&T name is on the mag

sorry for the messed up numbers guys.

Its DEFINITELY does not drop right in if thats what your asking.... Could you MAKE it fit ? Well of course... I mean if they have Geo Metros with Blown 502s Im sure you could MAKE it fit... I used to know a couple guys over at one of the Honda dealers... They had one come in that had sucked up some major whatever during a rainstorm.. Bent the rods like pretzels.. But anyways... The block was undamaged (AMAZINGLY.. should of seen the pistons.. worst ive ever seen from hydrolock) and they could of given it to me... So i took a spare gsr tranny i had down there to see if the bell housing would match up ... It did not... If I remember correctly 1 bolt wasnt even close and the rest were off quite a bit... The motor mounts were quite different too from a B, D, or H series (gosh it was quite awhile ago and im trying to remember everything about it, could be wrong about the mounts but I dont think I am)... So I guess if you fabbed up some custom mounts/brackets, some kind of crazy adapter for the bell housing, and had some kind of stand alone engine managment to wire in (although maybe you could fab a harness and run a stock ECU) you could make it work... Does it fit ? yes... Does it drop in? NO, HELL NO !

^^^doesn't even sound like it's even worth doing. Probably why you don't hear of too many people with the s2000 motor in their '94 accord lol

Exactly.... The other honda engines have more potential anyways due to all the aftermarket availability...although it would be unique !

it can be done but very hard work to do. not only does the engine sit vertically in the engine bay but it's also rwd. that would be hard to convert a civic or rsx to rwd.

I have seen the s2k engine in an 89 Nissan 240sx... turboed for drifting... the s2k's weight distribution and suspension was too good for competition drifting i guess, so they just stole the powerplant
