Exclamation S/C's = lame?

i dont wana bash superchargers. but in all honesty...i rlly dont like them . i mean yes yes, u have the hp through the whole power band and turbo comes in at the higher RPM's. but i dont think you really get as much pull and not as much power per pound of boost. and with a turbocharger, you never really get a shitty kit. take for example my friends 5.0.....he buys a supercharger kit, that can only run like, 5 psi...which, unfortunatly sucks major *****. and his mustang still sucks major *****.

there isnt really a "shitty" turbo kit. idk if its just me...but alot of my friends seem to agree.

yeah there are plenty of shitty turbo kits... and most NA stock motor won't take more than 6-8psi without race gas and intercooling... I guess thats why some the fastest quarter mile times ever run were done by supercharged cars.... I"m sorry but this thread don't mean ****...
and by the way until a higher CFM s/c comes out I"ll probably go turbo... but I'd much rather a S/C

it just depends on what company makes the supercharger and whether or not you know what you are doing. plus what can your specific car handle??? look at the SS/SC, they come with 12.5psi and are boosting up to 20psi!!! if thats not awesome i dont know what is. thats the same as what a lot of srt-4's, evo's and sti's are boosting as far as i know.

Where abouts in New Jersey are ya from?

Supercharger whine > BOV

Tell your mustang friend to get a real supercharger. The M62 on our Cobalt's is capable of about 19-20 psi max, I think.

Most kits turbo or supercharger can run higher then 6psi, but you better have internals done or boom.

Thank you. I am now dumber having read that.

Go to a NHRA Pro-Tour event and ask the Top Fuel guys if they're running turbo's or superchargers. You'll have your answer about what makes the most hp, regardless of RPM.

Don't like em, don't buy one. Personally I'm not a big fan of turbos. I HATE the BOV sound, ick. Like nails on a chalk board to me. Like unkillsam said, I love the whine of a supercharger, sounds a LOT meaner.

what are you talking about???? Can you explain to me then why top fuelers use SCs instead of turbos??? Your friend is probly only running 5 psi because his compression is through the roof like 11:1 or something that NA cars run, the higher the compression the less boost you can run, ideally to run 25psi id have my CR at 9:1 maybe even 8.5:1. If you only read Sport Compact Car and Super Street you'll never find a shitty turbo kit.

Also its all in the TUNING!!!!
