From a Saturn Ion RedLine Owner
Well there was a guy in the RedLine Forums wanting us RedLine owners to come with our opinion. So here is mine. The car is fabulous. And the cobalt ss is a Saturn Redline with a different rear and front and bigger tires and im sure a few other mods. But basically the same car, which i am not too happy about cause i love having a car that is so unique on the road right now, but i can get over it. The cobalt ss will be hot. I definately wanna see what 18's look like on my car. Anyone that is thinking about taking the step to buying the ss jump on it. First of all you will have a flagship car in its first year of development. The gm performance division already did their homework with saturn to make this a great car. Dont have any worries...i love my car and would not trade it for anything else in its class or even a class higher. If anyone wants to trade me a 2005 porsche 911 for my ion redline though please email me at once. If anyone has any questions i will be happy to answer them.
thanks and have fun with the new car.

Hey, welcome to the site! We were just saying in another thread that it would be great if we had some Redline owners on the site, to give us reviews and opinions and let us know if they are modifying them and how they like the car in general. Thanks for taking the first step, get some more people to post here and let us know how they like the Redline!

I've had my redline for 5 days now. I LOVE it!!!!
Can't wait till the Cobalt comes out and GM starts some aftermarket stuff.
I'd already like to get a couple hundred more revs out of her before the limiter kicks in. Especially in first.
As far as styling goes, the RL is a beautiful car. All I ever hear is SRT-4 this and SRT-4 that, but you know what? The SRT-4 is fugly. I don't care how fast it is, it's still a Neon and damn ugly. :P

Im going to have to agree with you 2 the neons arent good looking cars i like the RL a hell of alot more i even like the RL a little more then the cobalt (shhh dont tell Jonel :P ) But i really think GM has struck something with the two cars they have an appeal that GM has been lacking for the past few years.

SHHHHH, me three.
Anyways, I know that the cobalt SS will spark up some friendly competition the two cars, but I know that there will be mutual respect for both cars. Both are leading GM's compacts into the next age, and finally getting old man GM some much-needed presence in the tuner segment.

Is that all?
I've had mine for a week. When I drove it off the lot it had 292 miles on it. Now it's got 1650 and some change!!! LOL!!!
I did drive mine on a five hour, each way, trip to San Antonio over the weekend though.
I cannot stop driving this thing. It's a blast.

8)
i guess i'm an old timer
my RL has 6500 miles on it
it has been excellent
the cobalt will have the same numbers as the Red Line
since the whole drive train is the same
the cobalts tires might increase the skidpad numbers
and i think the colbalt i a little lighter. the RL is 2,900 lbs.
you guys are going to love this car.
i'll have to test drive one when they come out to compair.
good day all.
