Did you notice this noise when you first bought it or did it take a while before it started making that noise. I am just wondering because I think mine was built in that time.

I noticed it about 2 months after I bought it. It only done it about once every week or so. Then it started doin it more often. Now it does it just about every day. But it's not a constant noise. It only does it for a few minutes about every time the car is warming up..

Your build date is 05/10/2006 so you might be one of the unlucky ones like me Hope not though.

edit: What was the problem that the dealer couldn't find?

ticking coming from the engine bay--first they gave me a CND (could not duplicate, for us F-16 folks)--then second time around, they heard it but couldn't figure out what it was. I'll have them check into this again. Also, if I don't hold my clutch for 5+ seconds before shifting into reverse, it grinds into gear--may have them check into that as well. The manager there is really cool, so I don't see him boning me over it. Paid cash for the car, and get all of my modifications installed there (minus oil changes--only the best (Royal Purple) for my beast, so if there's anything wrong, I'm sure they'll do what it takes to make it perfect.

Thanks a TON for the info, fr33k! You're a godsend. Would you be able to pm me my assembly line number (like #500 out of 10,000 or whatever were made, etc)?

I agree, this thread should be stickied or thrown up on the main page with maybe a link to where to find our build dates, etc. I would love to know every available statistic on my car.

I would definitely get it checked out.

The dealership where I work is goin to do the work. I'm good friends with the service manager and the main tech. I help them out alot and they help me. So far, as long as I worked here, I have NEVER paid for any work or paid for oil changes on any of my vehicles I've owned. The mighty power of the pencil. hehe.

Your CND might be this problem.

I dont have access to the line numbers. I wish I did. I would like to know myself

Yours was built on 01/11/2006. But you do have an open campaign for the 06217 head restraint thingy.

I'm checking build dates for peeps that give me their VIN's. I don't have any way of checking without it.
