In for service (AGAIN)

yeah so they never did fix the air conditioner the correct way and water still pours out of the vents and down the radio into the cup holder , so they have to fix that...

Another thing I found out was the bracket in the front of the blower (it has two bolts) was broken (snapped right in half) and it holds up the coolant lines and the plastic tube where you can insert more coolant. My dad spotted that one....

Here is an example picture with the part labeled / circled that was broken.

Keep an eye out for this. It may be a recall part. This isn't the first time it's broken on the SS/SC according to my dealership, it's just a small metal bracket with two screws on each side.... Btw, I've already got almost 14,700 miles on my car I drive way too much, lucky for me I bought this car huh?

My rant for the day. This marks the 7th issue with the car and it's not a half a year old yet.

Sorry to hear that man.. sounds like you got a real basket case there. Weird.

You should consider contacting GM directly if you think the dealer's not helping the way it should. There's phone #s and email addys on Chevy's website. They generally answer even emails within a day or two.

BTW .. how's the psi-fi kit?

Oooh, it's on the car in your pic, figured it was yours. Someone else's pic though, I guess.

I was too lazy to get my own picture of my engine bay. Plus it's at the dealer :P

You know I just took that bracket on and off when I changed my pulley, seems ok on mine but I only have 8500 miles. Didn't see to have any stress on it either, maybe you just got a defective part.

yeah but in any event it sucks... the nice thing though is they are being good sports about giving me a discount on painting and installing my new RK Sport rear valance $150 painted and installed. Can't beat that. I should get my car no later then the middle of the week.

Back to driving the Sedan again

so they called me at the end of the day and said that my car should be ready tomorrow or wednesday. The part that broke in the bay was a part that is not even labeled so a special call to GM will get the part overnighted (from Japan - Fast and the Furious style)

The bracket that broke snapped he thinks because of high load or stress (wonder how that happened ). The guy said my RKSport Rear valance is painted and installed with the grill insert. I can't wait to see it

Damn man , sorry about all the bad luck your having with your SS . Im sure that comment just brightens your mood I went thru the same BS when I bought a new Trans AM back in 95 . I seemed to have got the only one that broke if looked it . It was in at the dealer 13 times in the first year and I was pursuing the lemon law with it . I got into a major accident with it before I got anywhere with them trying to take the pos car back . I feel so sorry for the poor soul that bought it at the salvage auction , I was just happy it was somebody elses problem and not mine . My next LT1 F-body was trouble free .

Hopefully they get all your issues resolved , if not I'd start looking for another dealer . A A/C system is not thaaaaaaaat complicated .

I just want them to do a total inspection of the car. At this point, I am sure more things have happened that I am not aware of.

just found out my valance was painted and ready to be installed but they said it doesn't fit? WTF? I called RK Sport and told them to figure it out. They sold me the piece and said it would fit my car when I called

They are dealing with my dealership.
