Setbacks

I received a call from the dealer today stating that my car has arrived on the shipment truck and is getting ready to unload. Excited as ever, I go and get my car loan application signed at my credit union and make sure I have the temp insurance paper printed out and VIN# given to insurance company. As this is happening I get a call from the dealer stating that the guy that unloads the cars from the fleet truck has scraped the front bottom part of my SS/SC. Of course I'm calm now that time has passed. Now I have to wait until Monday since they are going to sand, prep, and repaint the front bottom. I haven't seen the damage but they stated that it's not noticeable when you look (you have to get underneath the car to see the scrape).

Have any of you experienced any setbacks or issues like this with your new car (or a car in general).

Grrrrrrrrr, I'd be mad, I'd want them to take money off of the purchase because now you're getting a "damaged" car. Just go over it REALLY well and make sure everything is to your liking, take a good flashlight or something incase the the light isn't just right and make sure the color matches and the paint looks the way it should.

this happens all the time at my dealership. the transport guys get in a hurry to off load the cars they forget some set lower than others. it is a trip to watch them as the unload the vettes when the are behind shedule. it usally is not a big deal and more often than not it is very small you would not notice it unless you were rolling around on the ground. at least they fested up and told you unlike some dealers do. they say you must have done that when you left last night or while you were driving it

Ive seen brand new cars getting unloaded and the windshield, rear window glass broken. See bumpers ripped off... fenders scraped... you name it. Its unfortunate but atleast the dealer was honest enough to tell you what happened. Ive seen many occasions where a car has gotten pretty mess'd up and then repaired and the customer never even knew about it (this was of course before they purchased it). From what you saying though the damage sounds pretty minor... just some scratched paint in a spot you cant even see unless your under the car... Let us know what happens !

When I received my car it had a few scrapes under the front. I was going to say something to my dealer but after driving it around a few days it's now twice as bad. You can't see them unless you lay down and look under the front. I had a F-150 4X4 before this car. You just have to be really careful on sloped driveways and those cement parking stops because the front end is super low.

Peace

I was just going to take the car as-is since you can only see the scrapes if you look under the car. But after the dealer spoke with General Motors, they stated that they have to fix it before letting it go. I guess since I already waited 7 weeks, 2 more days isn't going to kill me.

thats ok there is a jeep/chrysler dealership like a block from my house and the other day i watched some tard smack a cement parking pole @ like 20mph. in reverse the other day in a brand new hemi jeep while taking it off of the truck. it looked like he was trying to beat traffic and get off the truck real quick and back it into the dealershit before cars were coming....i feel sorry for the guy who has been waiting on that one its gonna be a little bit longer than 2 days for that one...
