It is disabled on the SS S/C. The only time you'll see it lit up is when GM Stage 3 uses it to indicate whether high octane mode is enabled.

I am getting to the point where I am finding it annoying also. I have not decided if it is bad enough to do anything about yet though.

It is. God forbid you're waiting to pass somebody or just don't want to bog the **** out of your car, you have this annoying ass orange thing blinking at you until you shift. It's annoying as hell.

What car do you guys have that it comes on? It is disabled on the 2.4 as well... I wouldn't mind that coming on at about ~6550 rpm (200 before redline)

it isn't turned off in the lsj vehicles. 90% of the people on here do not rev high enough to see it. comes on a hair over 7600rpms. least it does on 07's

7600!? Isn't stg 2 redline 7k? So what good is that for the majority of people, or is it adjustable.

Well I wonder if it's in the 2.4 then as well.

Lol, only Area would know this! I would think it's more like 99% of people on here do not rev that high man.

the reason i say 7600 is simple. the tach is slow from the factory for a reason. it is not active below this rpm for a number of reasons. one being, it should not be coined as a shift light. it's an overspeed light. the misc lamp feature in hpt doesn't do anything for this. i think it is adjustable in hpt for the 2.4s. i have only delt with one 2.4 anyways. so it wasn't that big of a deal.

rout, yea well. i just happen to have larger ***** than most. not everyone has the testicular fortitude to crank 7900rpm's on stock balance shafts.

2007 LT. If it doesn't say SS, they don't expect you to not drive it like a 75 year old woman apparently.

That's not entirely true, not a single Canadian model comes with the shift light active, it doesn't even exist in our cluster as best I can tell. I've never understood the necessity of one, you have a tach, read it when needed, shift gears....how hard is that .
