Ok so im looking to put in an oe shift bot and knob. I have one lined off an ss cobalt with reverse lock on my cobalt has no reverse lock. Its the 08 sport cobalt. If I switch out the shift rod from the ss to mine would there be issues changing it over? Is it possible even to do such a thing. THANKS for any advice

 

well... I can't answer everything, but the reverse lockout is utilized through the shifter itself and the shifter assembly (the shifter slides over a plastic chunck) it's not governed by the shift cables at all... if that helps

 

It does. I could just remove the lock out plastics and swap over and I think it should work? Should be the same setup for the cables to the rod
