shifter boot

shifter boot

Anyone Know how to remove it? I am afraid to break something

all you need is a lighter, some BBQ starter fluid... and a really big knife

Press the boot in carefully on the side facing the radio. Don't do it to hard, or the plastic ring could break. Once you feel something click, you can pull up on the front. Even if you do snap something, its no big deal; I accidently snapped the thin plastic ring about a year ago, but the boot has never popped out since.

BTW, where in CT are you?

I'm sure he'll recover from the shock, Shultzay.

I wonder, though; is it the same proceedure for taking the boot off of a 2.2 as a 2.0? Or are they attached differently?

Thanks for the info on the removal of the boot. Got it and changed my shifter and boot. Also I am in Meriden, Connecticut. Where are you located?

Did not realize it already says where you are in. DUH in Chesire. LOL
