Driving home and the top of my shifter broke off!! Cant believe it broke off, anyone else have this problem?

 

stock shift knob? that cap on top? yea mine came off too, dealership replaced under warranty. it's only held in place by a couple plastic clips...

 

yeah that and the whole circular piece too

 

just take it to the dealership. It should be covered under warranty. My whole shift boot came out some how, and they replaced it for free.

 

yeah, same thing happened to me. I was shifter hard while cruising with the windows down and tried to drop it into second when the ball ripped off and the spring and plastic piece and boot came rocketing off almost out the window. i replaced it with a hurst shifter.

mine has come off about 5 times, i just put it back on and it stays for 8 months or so
