Shifter options

Been doing a little research on the subject but I just wanted to know a little more about what's out there. Twm is just outta my price range. Was thinking about a Cosmo racing bit haven't heard much about them in ss cars. Are they any good. Had one in my cav for a bit and it was okay. Is the cobalt one decent too. I'm just looking for a slightly shorter shift I don't want it to sit way to low though. A little shorter than stock is good butnot barely above the console. The Hurst looks great and I've seen a few up for sale here for a decent price.

Also what's everyone's opinions on base bushings? Had a set in my vr4 galant and it was one of the best things I did shifter wise.

Also cable clamps. What exactly do they do? Worth the money? Good upgrade? Want a good shift, or a better shift as its good as it sits.

Mike.

Alot of people go with BPS , due to a really good product, and a vendor for this forum. Id go with them. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Cobalt-SS-SC-and-SS-TC-Short-Shifter-2005-2010-/290761538650?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ACobalt&hash=item43b2bcfc5a&vxp=mtr

I got rid of my TWM for a BPS, never looked back. Better made, better quality, less money.

Seems as that may be the one to get. What about knob options? My stock knob is missing the top piece. So I'd like a new one of those also. Thing the bps round one looks great. Any other options?

And what about the cable clamps? Worth it? What do they do?

Cable clamp is well worth the money. It really is a good value. I had BPS make a custom knob for me. They can and will do anything you can think of, and their "off the rack" knobs are good too.

So I think I've settled on the bps, with a bps knob. Where should I get the cable clamp? Don't remember seeing one on the bps site. Did see one on Ottp and zzp though. Preferences to brand?

Found it on there. 291 for shifter, knob and clamp. Not bad at all. Think my decision has been made.

Was planning on it. Also found a discount code online. Not sure if it'll work but it'd be an extra 10% off.
