Should I go to GM ... ???
Should I go to GM ... ???
Hey all,
Got in the mail a letter for a semi-annual maintenance check-up thing from GM. I took an appointement for next week, but now I'm wondering if I should go. On the letter it says they will check the air filter. Thing is, I changed my intake with the AEM one. I'm wondering if they'll bitch at me and say that void's my warrantee...? Plus it's going to cost me $70 plus tax for this inspection!!! So maybe I should just bring it to my local mechanic which i know to get it inspected... After the inspection, I'll get some warrantee work done... My back left bumper is loose (clips broken), boost guage is at 5 instead of 0 when i'm about to start my car, my front left tire area makes a wierd noise when I hit larger bumps in the ground, and sometimes when I park my car, after like 10-15 seconds, I hear 4 or 5 bangs (not that loud though) which comes from the back of my car. In any case, should I go to GM for all this at once (inspection for $70 and warantee), or should I go to my mechanic for inspection and then do warantee work?
Thanks all!!!

The inspections are just a gimmick to get your money... surely you can check your own oil and air filter... you obviously knew enough to put on a CAI. I'm honestly suprised that you fell for that... but oh well.
As far as the bumper, boost, and "bang" problems... take it in.

******* guys... just to make some extra cash... ?
Everyone wants to eat! Sorry, just kidding. Don't waste your money on the inspection. SilverStreak is right. I would suggest keeping reciepts and records of any maintaince work you do though. By all means get the warranty work done as soon as possible

I got one of these in the mail and it went straight to the trash. Check out the prices they charge and what they actually do. It's a rip off. As an example their standard oil change which doesn't apply to us but does to other gm cars, is 24$ with a coupon. My dealership only charged 20$ for a standard oil change on my fathers car.
