I just picked up the 09 SS, every thing's factory, I don't know if the car is slow, I just don't know how to drive, or it just takes a lot to get me off... Don't really have any spare cash for up grades, NoT sure, maybe it's faster than I think. I topped it out at 157 and felt like I was doing 80, maybe that's a good thing... I'm in cheyenne WY, not a lot of people have any thing to race for me to see how it stacks up.. Any body have any suggestions..

i have yet to take my car over 115. If its too slow, get it tuned. if it isnt enough for you then it sounds like you need a drag car

 

maybe he had like a vette or something before the ss

 

you bought and economy car thats a little beefed up. what do you expect?

 

If u feel like ur doin 80 at 157, that's good. Means the car has control. For a factory car under 25k I think is good. Obviously better with mods

Naaa, no need to down grade, wouldn't mind having a Vette though.... This is the first "fast car" I've even driven..... Sounds like you all are on the money. It's a semi fun affordable ride until I can afford to actually build a drag car.. I just drove up from Denver to Cheyenne today and was averaging 110 and getting about 20mpg, guess I should stop being a puss and be happy...

I was in England for 2 years... man..... they know how to drive!!!! I loved it over there, guess that's where I got a little experience at high speed driving... I had a Volvo s40 non-turbo, pretty slow really but just about all the non micro-cars over there start topping out at 140 (MILES per hour) or so.. just might take a while getting there.. It's the 1/4 miles I need some practice at....

I just tried to send a reply, didn't go through... Any way, yea it seems to be the best bang for your buck in it's class. AND I'D RATHER BE SHOT THAN BUY A NON-AMERICAN CAR. That's the worst thing you can do to your country is buy a foreign car... My budy has a Caliber srt4 and from what i understand it's much slower off the bat factory, but the engine's overbuilt and designed for a lot of up grades. You can do a lot to them with out them braking (unlike a subaru / or evo)!!!! I'm partial to GM though.... OO also, I've found some into for stage kits on the 06/07 but nothing but rumors when it comes to the 08/09's, any info???

 

It is slow, you were going 3mph slower than the 160mph advertised

 

I'd recommend the BTF turbo kit. Puts you well over 400hp. I'll see if I can get ya a link.

very quick little car for the price. my 05 ss beats 93-04 gt mustangs stock for stock. it might be the turbo lag that makes it feel slow

Yea, good point. That's definately on the money... After about 3 1/2 good seconds it finally catches up. Some body on base has an STI and on the way to base him and me go back and forth, any thing under 40 he just takes off. Haven't gotten much of a chance to really race him, but I think he's an all out terrorist for driving one... That's prob what pisses me off,...
