Snobalt?!
Snobalt?!
I just have a question concerning if cobalts handle well in the snow. Well atleast the 08-09 cobalt ss/tc since they have the traction control, cuz if i am right the supercharged balts don't have traction control, but I may be wrong. So i was wondering if any of the new ss/tc owners can let me know how they do with Montana/Wyoming weather? And if i do get a new cobalt i will def. get the LSD.
I would post this in the North Mountain Region forum but no one has been on there in like a year.

my ss/sc doesnt do too bad in the snow, with snow tires at least. my only complain is that with the short 1st gear it makes taing off in the snow a delicate procedure, and doing a 2nd gear start is kinda hard on the clutch being the steep 2nd gear ratio.
I can't say for the s/c or the t/c, but my 2.4 is pretty decent.. I have all seasons on it, and have used both 17's and 18's on it.. For next winter I'm definitely gonna buy a dedicated set of winter wheels/tires though.. Now my 2.4 and my girlfriends 2.2 both DO have traction control, but **** that **** in the snow anyway. We're both auto, and the traction control turns off when you drop it into LOW.. Regardless, as long as you don't like in Antarctica, you should be cool, especially if you have a set of snow treads..
The Delta platform vehicles are decent on snow. I say ditch the stock tires though and pick up Blizzaks or something for the winter months.
For really bad weather, you'll have to use second gear starts and use what I like to call the "Steering assist" (ebrake to swing the rear around)

The only thing about the t/c is that you basically HAVE to source a set of stock 2.4 17's to use for winter because I don't think there's any 16's that work with the Brembo's, and most 17's don't either.. Ouch..

I was planning on getting blizzaks, but i wasn't sure if the limited slip would help a whole lot. I hear people always brag about stabilitrak that GM comes out with but i wasn't sure how it would handle with a coupe.
I disabled ABS so I can actually stop the car in the snow. ABS is not fun to have on snow-covered roads. I have Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50's, and the car is pretty good. I can bomb around in the snow with ease, just gotta use your head is all.
yea man winter tires FTW! i had the pirellis for the first month of snow and i was afraid i was gonna die... put on 16s with snow tires... OMG i tore up the streets with the above "steering Assist" haha
its so much fun with the snow tires

I wouldn't say my LT handles the best, but I did go through my neighborhood hitting patches of snow on purpose to kick the thing sideways for a brief second.. fun stuff. I can't wait til next winter when I get Blizteks on my steelies.
And btw i'm on stock continentals.. shitastics as I call them
