Snow
I've never had a problem in the New England Winters where it snows, then rains, then hails, then sunshine all within an hour of eachother until the sun goes down and becomes 8 inches of ice. works fine for me
It's mainly how you drive. I've had RWD 240SXs for many Minnesota winters and never had too much trouble. But a good set of winter tyres will make a massive difference, I know. Most all-season tyres will work as well, but summer tyres are black death on ice. I've seen objective winter tests where the summer tyres simply couldn't complete the tests at any speed.
Be careful with studded tyres, they give a lot of winter grip, but they're illegal in some states (like Minnesota). I also keep a set of chains in the trunk during the winter. They are also illegal, but no one will complain if you just use them to get unstuck.
