hey guys I am currently looking into a 2007 Cobalt SS from a dealership.
I currently drive a tiburon but i feel the need to upgrade.
It has 45,000KM and is 12,900. I asked if it had been in an accident before and the dealer said, "Not that i know?" didn't seem to confident.
are there any free vin check sites out there?
i tried the report check of carfax and all i showed was that it has had 2 reports, but i needed to pay for further information.
thanks

They should cause when i went to first look at my 06 the first thing they said was do you want to see the carfax and that was before i was considering buying the car

57k miles on a 07 SS/NA
yes I drive it a lot, and not the nicest roads. But the car feels like it's dying
Interior plastics are starting to rattle, sunroof creaks a lot, fabric on the inside is fading, wore a hole in the floormat underneath the gas pedal
it goes on

wow i feel sorry for you my balt has 41k and it runs just like new
I do drive on rougher roads than most, but I still don't beat on the car
Could be because I purchased it brand new, and have witnessed it fade, if you buy it "broken in" the shock factor won't be as high, if you catch my drift

Bought mine at 56,000. It has a bad tranny, Clutch is on it's last legs, Sway Bar links keep shitting out on me, Possible hole in the manifold, Power steering unit died on me(Not a cheap fix). Wheel bearings. etc.
Bought mine last January, Put 30,000 on it in a year and a half. Bought a Lemon I did, as many people are dealing with right now,
And espeically if you have a warrenty issued probelm, Tranny for example, hence why mine isn't fixed. Really preach the Abuse claus, and often don't honour us 2nd buyer's.
Buying a used cobalt is tricky business.
Type in VIN check in the forum. There are people on the site who can look up the vin for ya.
