130 here, once, ran outta road.
Early sunday morning, no traffic, about 55 degrees outside.
What a ride, completely smooth.

Careful guys, no accidents and tickets.....er loss of licence/increase in insurance? Try the track if you really need to know first hand.
Safe riding...........

seriously guys if your gonna be testing top speed take it to an enclosed cirlce track or something, dont do it on the street. becarefull and dont do it often. sometimes i'm glad that my cav only goes 108 (governed) cuz of that i'm never tempted to push it. so becarefull out there.

My 2001 Z24 cuts out at 170km/h still pulling. Tested this at the track. Everything shuts off and doesn't start up again until 120km/h or so. The steering and everthing still works though so it is still safe. Just wanted to see what would happen. Does the SS/SC have a similar shutoff point?

The SS/SC comes with Pirelli Z-Rated tires, I have read that this is the reason why there is no speed limiter. I agree with betterthanbad, thoes speeds are unsafe on the streets, it puts too many people at risk.

speed

Not everyone has access to a track. In my case I make high speed runs on Sunday mornings early, say 6 to 7 am on an open highway, very little if any traffic and I never pass anyone over 100 MPH. You never know what some people will do. Out here in PA there are lots of highways in the middle of nowhere, totaly open on sunday morning. The major concern here is not traffic at this time but deer.

Heres how I do this: Find a highway like I mantioned above.
Drive down one side checking the other side for obstacles and cops.
Turn around (ramp or emergency crossover )
Make your run.

Cobaltss313 knows what I'm talking about, don't you dude?
This is as safe as it gets on a public highway.
Be safe and whatch out for the other guy, good luck.
