dumb question but are you guys picking up a lot of squeaks early in your cobalt. i dont have a bad problem but sometimes when i hit a bump like a small one on the interstate ill hear a squeak. this didnt occur till i put in my strut bar support. is this common? what is squeaking and whats the fix?

oh and its an 07 and i only have 8 thousand miles on it!!

I dont have a strut bar, and my 05 ss squeaks too. GM huh?

 

mine does the same. Had it check at my last oil change...was told 'body noise' is a problem with our cars.

 

A major source of squeaks is the latch where the rear seats lock in, you can see them when you fold the rear seats down. GM has a TSB out on it, they should fix it for free, get them to look it up.
Otherwise our cars do squeak and rattle a lil bit, it's what you get when you buy an economy car for under 30k, unfortunatley. Dynamat ftw!

 

my car has 9500 miles on it and my headliner rattles by the sunroof switch, glove box rattles/squeaks, my rear seats squeak over bumps and my driver's door handle rattles while driving or with radio on. i have my noises with my balt than my 14 yr old beater

its all good. warranty-2 more years 26,000 miles to go. no worrys
