ss/sc shifter

Does anybody else notice that when you're in third gear and you punch it you feel your shifter move like 2 mm in your hand ?

its nothing drastic but i just want to know if everybody feels this lol

yes, this has been discussed several times. Nobody is sure exactly why it does it, but it doesn't seem to be a problem.

its just movement in the drivetrain..
every manual i have ever driven does this.. some you can feel more noticeably more then others.. dont worry bout it

In a application (RWD) where the shifter sits on the transmission tailshaft the shifter moves from side to side with the engine.

Since a FWD transmission rotates front to back and isn't attached to the shifter it just pulls on the shifter cables, which in turn moves the shifter a little.
