Not THIS again.... This was posted last winter too. The stock tires are only good on dry, hot pavement. I have winter tires on my car, and with the wide tires and wheels, I can plow through better than anything but 4WD trucks.

Get better tires, and stop blaming the whole car.

I have the Nero M&S as my summer-only tires and I STILL run snows. Mostly cause I don't want to screw up one of the 18s on the car-eating potholes around here.

My Cavalier saw 9 cold, hard winters with not a rust spot to be seen. Proper care and regular undercarriage washes go a LONG way in preventing rust.

it won't rust out within 2 years. and besides, you have a 5 year rust warranty no questions asked.

So far I love my car in the snow way better than I thought! I have 2 pirrelli P-zero neros all seasons on the front. I think the lsd helps a lot. I still have the summer stockers on the rear so my rear end slides out quite a bit. Its kind of fun, but sucks when your not expecting it...

Complete 180, tryed to recover it by cutting back into it but nothing grabbed.

Just missed the gaurdrail!

I may be buying rear tires now WAY to close of a call.

the 5 year rust protection warranty only covers if there is a hole formed, and bubbling, it do NOT COVER SURFACE RUST!!!!!!! ive been though this with the dealer with my past 3 cars. here in NFLD they salt the road, and it will eat and kill a car in 2 years!.

well, their salt must be different than the salt that they use in other places. i have never had a car rust, and here in new jersey they use tons of salt in the winter. it all comes down to how you take care of your car.

no, you're not. you have just been lucky. but you are still an idiot for thinking you will be ok on stock bald tires in the snow. WHEN you crash, hopefully you won't plow into someone else in the process.

Just wash the car once a week at a touch free car wash that does the undercarriage and you will be fine. Wax it once a month as well. I've yet to have mine out in the salt/snow but if/when i choose to do so that's going to be my wash routine. My old Z24 lasted 19 years in upstate winters before it rotted out.. I think I will be sick of the cobalt by the time 20 years rolls around.

I just got new tires for my Saabaru, it came out to 566 just tires.
I had stock tires and i thought i would do alright with awd, I almost died last thursday. My car goes crazy and goes side ways when loose traction. I was going 3mph and the road was a little tilted and the car just start going side ways. Scared the **** out of me. Lucky me there was no curb, just dirt. and dirt don't hurt.haha.

lol Indiana winters aren't that bad, I agree. But it just makes me laugh that everyone is on here saing that it is so hard. Most of the time the people who are having a hard time are people who are driving like it is 90 and sunny, when it is 9 and snowing.
