against each other, for the most part I've found people here have welcomed SRT-4 owners. G.M and D.C has offered you guys/gals a car to show the world that we ( U.S ) have some cool/performance cars as well.

I don't think many of you know how many auto executives ( mostly bean counters ) there are in G.M & D.C that would like to kill these cars, let the companies know that you appreciate what there're doing for you and they will deliver even more in the future.

Pass along any knowledge that might help each other, once the SS/SC's and SRT-4's have shown the world that we have a fine car to offer... you guys can then beat the **** out of each other.

Finally, to each group.

Well said!

I was excited when the SRT4 first came out, even test drove one but I just didn't like it for whatever reason. Plus, I've always been a GM girl. I come from a family of car dealers and since before I was born, GM was the only thing owned, driven, and sold in my family. (Ironically, my mom's family is a bunch of Mopar fans!) So, I guess it's not surprising that I ended up with the SS/SC.

I love to see both cars gaining popularity and support and I really don't see either car as competing with the other, nor do I see one car as being "better" than the other, they're both great and the fact that they offer the opportunity to own a domestic tuner car is something to be appreciated. It's all a matter of personal preference. The SRT puts down more power, but for me I liked the overall package that the Cobalt had to offer.

That's what I hope to do in the near future.

I can relate to that ( being I'm old ) but things have changed a little, before we battle each other we must battle the imports and win. The imports have had there way for some time now and it's time to bring the battle to them.

I don't know that I'd go THAT far. The automotive industry has changed DRASTICALLY since the hayday of the Ford/Chevy battles. Now it's more a battle between domestic vs. import. Of course there's going to be a friendly rivalry between both camps, but ultimately to me both vehicles are on the same mission to prove that domestic tuners are a force to be reckoned with and earn some respect for themselves in the tuner market.

When everyone realizes the two cars are equal there might be some peace. Maybe?

I would hope that by buying a SS/SC GM would understand I care. But I won't have it very long if they don't pick up the pace on GM performance parts for the SS/SC.

I'm sure the SRT-4 will be back... just not on the Neon platform.

Could be a Caliber SRT-4 in the future... or perhaps they'll produce something based on the Razor concept and have an SRT-4 version of that. THAT would be sweeeeet, 230rwhp in a car that weighs less than the current SRT-4.

Friendly Rivalry ....No haters

We should unite as U.S. car owners , It's an old fogie thing I guess. But still get along
respectfully with imports. We need competition for every car company to better its' products so in that sense we need each other. And hey , we need people to beat at the races , right . I have a best friend at work that has an SRT-4 with some decent mods . We screw around alot in our cars (nothing unsafe - but a little bit of showing off and crap)
'nuff said.

this is by far the coolest ss website ive posted on, and to be honest, the only one i post on now. you guys rule.

and to the one above about the srt-4 returning, it will. on whatever platform that is replacing the neon. its not so much they hate the neon, its just the platform is getting outdated, and they are making changes, and giving it a new name. "Caliber" is the last i heard?? looks kinda ugly right now, but with automakers, you never know what it will look like till it hits the showroom floor.

So very true, if not for competion we still might be driving Model T's with only one color choice.

ya, I usually express the plus' of each vehicle rather than the baddies....I can honestly say so far tho, my SRT has had less defects than the Cobalt

But the cobalt "feels" like it has a better quality....we will see.

the SRT is def faster lol

Yeah really,I dont see why we can't just get along. I had an SRT-4 riding my ass today on the way home from the gym. It was some 45 year old dude that thought it was funny to ride my ass. I thought about spiking the breaks but it wouldnt be worth ruining two amazing cars to **** off some a-hole. I think he wanted to race but its obvious that the guy didnt know where he was because we were in a city notorious for sneaky cops that will pull u over for 2 over the speed limit. At a stop light i looked back and he was just laughing at me for some reason. That kind of pissed me off and looking back i should have invited him for a little ride through this nearby city that is known for its curves...I know I could have taken him there. Ohwell Im not about to waste my time with some dude going through a midlife crisis. Ill let him think he is sweet. There are just more considerate ways to ask someone for a race without ridin his bumper in a 35 MPH zone.

Since the SS is in the garage I have never been harrassed as much. And I have had a couple Camaros and a Firebird in my past life(last8 years).More people seem aggressive towards this car.I NEED a Dukes of Hazzard push bar !
I know up here in WI the vehicle will flash its' lights and pass you and wait for you to flash your lights and then TRY to pass them (highway). I will never do that crap. I am a CDL holder and it can affect my job.

being an srt owner... i completely agree!! we have a weekly get together in Linden, NJ that we open up to anyone that wants to join us! the problem is that not too many SS/SC are out in this area yet, lol, ive only seen 3 since the came out around here... but if theres anyone in the NJ Area, stop by www.srt4mation.com and check out the weekly get together at Aviation Plaza every saturday nite, haha, its alot of fun!!

PS... The SS/SC is a hot car, hehe

My Thoughts

SRT guys have thier own fourm to go to right? Thats what i thought. First off I dont quite understand how they think that thier old out dated NEON chassis on steroids can compare to that of the cobalts new ultra rigid delta platform with the bomb proof ecotec powerhouse. Next look at the cars side by side, clearly you will see the cobalt is far more superior than a neon. Cobalts sure do look a lot more sportier than a car my 90 yr old grandma drives. and the interior fit & finish is alot better too. yea these "new age neons" are pretty quick. but the cobalt is right on its tail. you srt guys need to look at handeling too the cobalt numbers in that catagory will whomp on you. thanks for reading later

Uh, dude, you're in the wrong thread. It's not polite to hijack threads, man.

SRT guys are welcome here just as anyone else is, as long as they aren't starting trouble. I don't have a Cobalt, and I post on this forum. Why? Because I've run into some pretty cool people, and I think the Cobalt's a nice car.
