Question SS/SC Windshield/Rear Window

So, those of you who own an SS/SC, are you missing your fitted trim on the outside of your windshield and rear windshield? Holy Crap! I am! I didn't notice it at the dealer cuz I was staring at the rest of the car, not the windshield!!!!!!! I can see my entire windshield and rearwindshield and how thick the actual glass is! The edges are exposed. I was looking at it lastnight and thought, "wow, there's a lot of dirt around my windshield and rear window!!!!!! At least they didn't forget to put the inside one on and glue the darn glass in. They left off the trim protection piece that goes all around it! The dealer will have to order and I'm sure it will take awhile cuz the cars are so new. ( or should I dare ask if its supposed to be that way? seems like a huge safety concern)

I don't actually own an SS, but from the looks of the chevrolet website I don't see any trim on the windshield. Maybe I'm just tired though...heh.

Yeah you're def. going to want to get that checked ASAP. Even if you just ask, it's better than not doing anything at all and have something serious happen to put your car in the shop for a prolonged period of time. Hopefully your car isn't full of water or anything because of a missing seal.

That's just what I would do though...

the cobalt is not supposed to have trim on the outside of the window. im not sure why-maybe its some sort of design element? My base sedan doesnt have it either and its not a problem, and the dealer will probably laugh at you if you ask him to order you some trim.

I noticed the lack of window trim last night. That is the way it's suspose to be. I even made a comment to the dealer that I don't want to crack the windsheild because that would be expensive to replace. I think it's a saftey design item, the front and back windsheild will pop out in an acident.

I totally agree. Safety is my concern. I will go by the dealer and look at the other cars first. Thank for the input.

don't worry....

...the windows are exactly as they are supposed to be and if you look closely you will see there is no where to attach the non-existant trim. I like how the design also makes it easier to clean around the wipers because it is all open.

I repair windshields at a car rental company that has a few cobalts. None of them have trim.

Yep no trim, and my windshield is leaking bad. I need to take it in and have it fixed. It gets all over the dash and steering column just washing the thing.

I've washed my car 8 times and I live in a place that rains a LOT. No leaks at all and I think that sometimes people post inaccuracies just to stir things up

Window Trim

No leaks on mine either. I was worried about the sunroof in particular, since the cars were put on hold for the sunroof, anyone know why?
For the record, my sunroof works just fine.

I have had mine since febuary, and it has never leaked till about 2 weeks ago. It was raining all day, and I got out of work, got in my car and I hit the wipers, to find that there was water all down the inside of the window right in front of me. I have washed it twice since then, and both times afterwards I have had water on the inside of the window and on the dash/column. I just haven't had time to get it to the dealer yet.
