SS/SC Windshield/Rear Window
Yeah,
means sarcasm. Its going to the dealer Monday morning. If you want, I will scan the paperwork they give me if you still don't believe me. You guys act like a windshield has never leaked on a car. Its not like I am saying I run 9's in the quarter.
Can anyone with an SS take a close up pic of the windshield with no trim. I can kind of see it on a couple pics here, but would like a really up close pic of JUST THAT. i'm mean, like a foot or two from the edge of the windshield.
I'm not worried about leaking, but I would like to see what it's about.

That is the way the window comes, if you ask the dealer he will laugh at you. The windows do not pop out in an accident either. The windsheild holds in place. It has 2 layers of glass with a layer of plastic inside of them. If it does pop out you can sue chevy or a glass company that has installed a new one in your car. Thye window actually helps support the roof in a roll over accident. If you stand the window straight up and down you can actually stand on it and it worn break The rest of the windows are tempered and they shatter into lots of tiny pieces.
whats up with all you colbalt owners dont you guys like to chat about your cars this forum needs life.i like the colbalt i dont own one but i came here to this forum to learn more about this car .

I'm gonna confirm this as being true, since my job is autoglass replacement. If anyone goes and looks at the windshields and backglass on the new style Malibus, you will find the setup is the same. The moldings on the glass are on the underside, leaving the edges exposed. Your glass is no more protected from breaking at the edge with a full wrap molding, than it is with the current style used. It's all purely cosmetic.
Windshield Trim
This is a designed in element to reduce wind resistance according to the info when the C6 was introduced and I figure it worked well as new GM cars (including the Cobalt) seem to include this feature. I have had my SS/SC since June 2 with no leaks noted. The car is so quiet, reducing the noise that comes from wind resistance seems to be a good idea. -- laborsmith
