Ss/tc bov
Ss/tc bov
so i just traded in my lt last week for an 09 ss and was wondering if you need to run aftermarket charge piping in order to instal a bov
(instead of the stock bpv), im assuming i will lose boost but i dont realy care.. just wanna hear more of a psst when i shift like the cool kids

well..first there is lots of threads on this... secondly i am not an expert on this either. You do need to run different piping. A common piping that is ran is the dejon hotside piping with the flange of the bov already on it. You can run your bov and bypass valve together at once but your car with never run right inless you either relocate your maf and then tune or recirculate your bov. Running it atmospherically is not the best for your car.. It cause your trims to get out of whack. So there is the jist of it.. if you have more ask..
You will get mixed responses on this topic.. I'm personally not a fan of a bov on our stock turbo setup, but either way, yes you need aftermarket charge pipes with the bov's specific corresponding flange welded on to accomplish this.
You're going to get a decent bov sound if you get a cai anyways, but to each their own
Nice user name btw.. looks strangely familiar..

Even louder than a CAI would be an SRI (short ram intake). I have Dejon's SRI and when you get on it my BPV is as loud as some BOVs Ive heard. Plus you can really hear it sucking air when the turbos spooling, which I like as well.
Sounds like a good idea to me, still gunna look into everything a bit more..
