stage 2 install?

Called my local Chevy dealer where i bought my SS and inquired about them installing the stage 2 kit on my car and they flat refused stating they didn't wanna mess with it!WTF!You mean to tell me i'm willing to spend upwards of 750 bucks with your parts department and what your service department will charge me to install it and you don't wanna mess with it?Give me a break!I just don't wanna mess with my warranty, thats why i want a dealer to do the install. My search will continue throughout the day to find a suitable dealer, thanks for listening to my ranting.Anyone have the same trouble?

I have heard of this problem before. I went in to get a qoute for a Stage 2 kit. They had no idea what i was talking about. I told them one of my friends came in about a week ago to have one installed. I have heard dealerships turning down there stage kits. Find a new one.

I had a dealer turn me down a couple months ago.
I told him that they were GMP parts so what was the big deal?
They said that they don't want to have to rebuild my motor under warranty when I blow it up.
LOL
I told him it was their loss and another dealer will get my money.

I really can't believe that GM has not educated their dealers on the stage kits better than that.

I know what you mean. I work in a parts dept at a dealership and even with my 07 I bought here, they didn't want to install it for me. I installed everything myself after hours using some of the techs tools.

Warranty is a BIG deal at most dealerships. They have to stay under certain percentage of cost-per-repair order or they can get audited so most places dont want to do anything that might bite them later on.

think of it this way.

if they are truely that stupid.....do you want them installing your ****? and possibly having to have them do warranty work for you?

think glass is half full. you learned how dumb they are before finding out the hard way.

I had some issues trying to find a dealer that wanted to do it, so I just installed it myself and had a dealer do the flash. The install is very, very easy with the zzp pulley puller.

Cake!

Actually....I give them credit for honesty -- they probably don't even trust their own mechanics and don't want to mess your car up

though you only get 12 months warranty for your stage 2 if you DIY
if GM installs it its covered under your 3 yr vehicle warranty.
