stainless

What is the real benefit to stainless:
-header
-down pipe
-catback
-intake

Does the other steel actually rust? or have any other draw backs?

Even stainless steel will corode (rust) given enough time but it will take much longer for it to happen than with the mild steel you will find in cheaper exhaust components.

For an intake the corrosion issue is not as severe but it sure looks a lot better

there's no performance differences. it's just how well it will hold up and how long it will last.

stainless intake is kinda pointless imo. its heavier than aluminum/plastic so there is no benifit.

You must have never had an aluminum intake that got holes rubbed into it. Stainless intakes are way better for durability.

X2. Especially in our cars there is that lil bolt that actually does do that.

That's why we have the R.A.W. Intake for.

The stainless corrodes because it is has a low nickle content, Real stainless will not corrode
Like your kitchen sink.
Cost is a big factor in the nickel content thus the rusty exhaust. Also I think if the nickle content is to high the metal becomes more brittle and will crack when bending it .

The hood strut was rubbing on my Injen. It was also rubbing where it goes in to the wheel well. I got my RAW CAI and haven't had any problems.

True true. Wouldn't do much good if it never rusted but cracked to **** when you tried to form it
