sti will be here forever w/ endless aftermarket support. ss/tc will be here for a couple of years w/ very limited aftermarket support.

Cobalt. I wouldn't take a chance with the STI.

Sti was probably beaten to death. Out of your choices I would pick SS/TC.

SS/TC has some serious potential. Not many people have them and nothing puts people in there place like gettin smoked by a Chevy Cobalt.

SS/TC will be faster is stock form than the STi is NOW.

BUT, the STi is a very capable machine that can be made faster in the long run.

Haha... you act like there is a vast market of upgrades for the SS/TC that you can compare to the STi's available mods.

$90 for a tactrix cable and used exhaust parts will get you a S2 equivalent car for that much or less. Pro-tunes are ~$300-$500. They aren't hard to get decent gains out of, but real power requires a turbo swap on STi's.

Since when did the SS run better than mid-low 13s stock?

The STi is faster in the first 330'... that's it. Take the launch away from it and it will lose.

Well... 75% of races take place from a roll (if you are a street racing person)... its the race of opportunity.

There's nowhere to do a legal 1/4mile run on the island so all the drag fans find a familiar highway and they line up and go from....... a stop. Is it retarded street racing? Yes. Is it guy on guy roll racing? Nope.

my buddy at work has a 04 sti, and seriously, his interior is WEAK!!! like there is nothing nice about the STI interior at all.

yes it is turboed and yes it is awd, but look at it this way, you could buy a car just as powerful or very close brand new for roughly the same price as a used car...

new>used ALWAYS

i hope that helps a little, + sti is worse on gas ftl

+ maintaining one is FTL if one of your tires balds quicker then the other (for any reason) you have to buy all 4 new ones so the awd system doesnt **** up

That's a race that was set-up though. When you just so happen to find a car traveling in the same direction as you... its different.

I should have fully explain myself in my first post.

STi will get to the 1320 faster. But the SS WILL be moving faster at that point, and if the street race lasts much longer than that, the STi will normally lose. That was the point I was trying to make.

I've read like 3 threads lately where people don't understand why they are beating STi's and Evo's on the street - from rolls. "That's a low 13 sec car... how am I beating it." I suppose I just got carried away.

I'd rather have the STi. But I was just making the point that out of the first 330', its all in the SS.
