Stretching the Truth on MPG
I don't think they can do much about it. having a speedo that reads low is a good thing, you will show less miles on your car than you actually have and when it comes time to sell the car low miles equals money in your pocket! its not going to be a huge difference, but maybe enough to help you out by a few hundred bucks.
My gauge is usually 0.8-1mpg off, i can't complain about that. the auto guys usually say its dead on. its a great way to get some feedback on if your driving style is saving you money at the pump or not, even if its not accurate; It is consistent.

i hope to god you know why this is....its not like its adjusting....its calculating every second what your average is since you last reset it....and if you JUST reset it...it might have 3 seconds of logged data of 20MPG, but then if you get 2MPG the 4th second (flooring it) it will average to 15MPG...causing a HIGE jump in one second...now if you dont reset it for a minute....you may have 59 seconds averaging to 20MPG and 1 second averaging 2MPG...in which case that will all average to 19.7...not a big jump in comparison......now dont reset it for an hour....see the point im making? its still correct every second you reset it...its just constantly updating to your current average since the last time it was reset...and the closer that time was, the more each variable will affect the average
