Struck by lightning
Struck by lightning
As I was Driving home on street road here near Philly. We had a vicious storm pass thru. Had music going listening to Meek Mill lol. Got to a red light and seen someone flashing their high beams in my sideview. I look around and a car next to me is waving at me so I turn the radio down and roll down my window. The woman screams that my car was struck by lightning and I replied Wth are you talking bout? She repeats. I say yea ok... Continue driving get down the road some next light.... A different person waving.... Roll down the window same story. I pull over at a sev look at the roof and no damage, no CEL's. I seen plenty of flashes of lightning when driving but you never hear it when driving especially with the radio on. So its rather the cobalt can eat a lightning strike or random people are plotting against me. You be the judge cause I would expect a burn mark? Despite the rain it's still lightning
hahahaha, dude i was just on 80 coming home from stroudsburg, and my girl wanted me to pull over because it was raining and lighting so hard and she was like what happens if the car gets hit by lighting, i told her that it would hit the hood and ground itself or stop it cos theres rubber as for tires...
if you rode on bare metal, you would of been burnt
if you rode on bare metal, you would of been burnt
I've seen lightning up close like a few houses away while driving and I was literally blinded and had to pull over for a few seconds haha, maybe these people were wearing sun glasses haha
Could've happened easily. They did a test on Top Gear to see what would happen, with a vw golf I think. They discharged a bolt of 800k volts and it was pulsing through the car for like 10 seconds. It freaked out some of the electronics when it was pulsing through but as soon as they shut it off there was no way to tell it had happened.
Some crazy storms in PA today, in my area I got hit with two. One was early in the morning on my way to the hospital, was taking a trauma patient doing about 60 in 55 and bam just started pouring, lightning and thunder the whole package, had to slow down to about 30
Dude, the lightning just traveled several thousand feet through the air. Who cares if you have a couple inches of rubber on your tires... the lightning is just going to jump the 5 inches between the frame and the ground. It won't even know that your car has tires.
Electricity is going to find the path of least resistance so It could happen. There is an arguement that if you are touching something metal then it could travel to your body. I would say that you would notice a bolt of lighting zapping your car. Something would be melted off or burnt. Maybe they were just shocked by the blinding beauty of the balt!!
