Question sup im new got a question

Hey all my name is chris i just wanted to ask yall a question. Im getting the cobalt SS no matter what i have a 2.2 Turbocharged Cavalier pushing around 187 hp and 180 tq at wheels with running low boost around 8psi and i run 15 flat and/or depending on gas high 14's. well my question is if i throw a ram air intake and a full cat back exhaust how much HP you think i will gain on the cobalt? Has anyone with the RL modded their cars yet to give us an idea? I want this car to be in the 14.6 area stock i hate the fact that im alot less Hp and run the same time as it but the body of this car is so hot so i gotta get it no matter what lol throw a eye lid on it and its complete!

Thank you for your time l8r

your running stock exhaust system on a 2.2 is it 2.2 eco or OHV? if your turboed expect a good gain from a full catback go 2.5" catback add a high flow cat also, as far as intake you could add a heat shield which will do the job or you can run the filter to the fenderwell. are you intercooled? cuz those numbers seem kinda low for a ecotec if you are an ecotec 2.2 thats why i'm wondering if your intercooled, if not add one, get an msd also that will help alot and do a full catback and expect around a 220 whp and equal tq. but if you have an intercooler add exhaust expect 200whp. you have a natrual weight advantage being 200lbs lighter so that will help, your gearing is better possibly dont know on the getrag if thats what u have. so u should be able to step up on srt-4's also work on your driving regardless those numbers and your weight you should be doing consistant high 14's. get her dyno tuned.

I believe he was asking what power and times would be for the Cobalt with a ram intake and cat-back.

Ther was a short ram tested to bring the RL's wheel hp up from about 204 to about 209, and torque up from 183 to 187. I don't know what a cat-back will ad, but apparently the exhaust on the SS is restrictive so it will probably do some good. Vita, a member here with an RL, is getting a header that is supposed to at 15% more power.

Either way, the RL people are also saying that people have already hit 14.5 bone stock. Haven't seen a slip, but it's definitely believable.

oh my bad. well no one really knows what gains will be givin since the car isnt even out yet. your best bet would be to go on redline forums and see what they offer and what kind of gains are shown, so far an aem intake for the engine shows 6+ hp gain, and a header thats in development shows a 38hp gain.

thanx eddie a zstyle

eddie anyways i have a regular 2.2 non eco with all the mods u can throw at it from a intake to a to a turbo. my GM techs in delaware said if i throw in a fuel managment system like from AEM and some new tires i would be a whole second faster, but i told them im just going to use that 2000 dollars on a down payment on a cobalt SS s/c

Good plan
Change is always good and the s/c Cobalt has a lot of potential.
