haha yea...this thread is pretty old now. my cash flow has lessened a lot.....it should pick up a lot now tho, ive got 48 hrs this week due to my promotion. however a complete parts list would be nice just to double check that i have everything...there seems t be some debate about whats needed

yes please a parts list would be great......

everything on the L61 in the Cavaliers and Sunfires is the same as on the Cobalt L61s except the computer. But we can use the GM reflash for our computers so basically just need a parts list for what is needed...

Good luck Hunter....hope it goes well.

people having the ***** to do it is whats stopping anyone. tuning through AEM FIC, parts obviously all exist, and its been done on a couple other balts already
the below is also correct...the cavi can be reflashed...the cobalt cant..but again, there are piggybacks

yes you can have the Cavy ecu reflashed for the charger..you go to the dealer and give them the correct part number, and they download the reflash to your computer......

S/C reflash for auto tranny - 12590819
S/C reflash for 5spd tranny - 12590820

SMACK!!!!>..

yes you can flash the cavi but you can't use that flash for the balt

ok try that.. you do that... the cavi ecu and balt ecu AREN'T THE SAME!!!!! the flash will not work... and could possibly damage things if attempted and done incorrectly

there is NO flash/ ecu tuning for a 2.2 balt unless you get the garrett turbo kit and thats only for specific years...

the total ive spent was 1800.00 for every thing including the stage 2 kit with tuning still cheaper the the turbo kits from garret... the scer was used and i put new bearings and oil in there the stage 2 kit was 570.00 i think and the tunning was 480.00 for the smt-7 i went thecheaper way out i dident get all the stuff from a ss model only the main parts... the only probs ive had was the tunning mainly... trying to get that right..

What parts are different? Can you or yellow give us a list of parts for the cobalt? That way more can try.

I see you are going with the smt-7 instead of the aem, what helped you make this decision and how is it working for you? Do you have a check engine light on or any drivablitity problems?

Do you have an unused code for the stage flash lying around then?

Update!

Car is in the shop right now having the transmission cooler, wideband, and AEM F/IC installed. I should have it back by the end of the day.

well, several days of troubleshooting later....its up and running. Apparently one of the sensors they were told to wire was supposed to use sensor wire #2 whereas the pinout listed on most of the forums out there have the #1 wire listed instead. My shopm is awesome btw...they're only charging an extra $200 for the extra 10 hours they put into this thing trying to troubleshoot it.

Anyway, its good to go, and I'm picking it up tomorrow morning!

one step left...the supercharger itself...
