Ok, I don't know if this is the right section for this question, but I couldn't figure out where else to post it. One of my friends has a friend that is trying to convert a non supercharged auto balt to a supercharged auto. He is a mechanic and the local dealership and has , I believe, an auto 2.2L cobalt. The dealership got a wrecked ss/sc and he would like to do an engine swap. The only problem is the tranny. As far as GM knows, he contacted them, their is no auto that has been supercharged. GM would very much like to see this get done and verified. I thought someone on here may have accomplished this feet, or know how it may be possible. If you have done this or have any advice it would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks guys
Damnit it was on craigslist yesterday. i will post it tommorrow when they re-do the add. Yea it is tho lol. I went and looked at it before i bought mine. I didnt even know SS's came with an auto
SS 2.4 = 5-speed manual or 4-speed auto
SS 2.0 Supercharged = 5-speed manual exclusively
No exceptions from the factory. So it's probably a 2.4 you're talking about... which would mean it's not supercharged... which confirms either you or craigslist = fail

There was also a "Cavalier SS" on craigslist last month.

Dude if it's a 2.4 it's not supercharged from the factory. It's relatively easy to supercharge a 2.4 aftermarket though.
If it's supercharged from the factory, it is a 2.0L, and therefore manual. No effing exceptions. People get the two different SS Cobalts confused all the time. That's probably all this is.

If some cracked out guy decided to make a handful of automatic LSJ's at Lordstown that no one knows about, fill me the **** in.

From what i was told I am guessing it won't just bolt straight up. The tranny should be able to handle the power with no real upgrades as it's rated higher than the 5 speed
