there are 2 kinds of SS up until 2007

SS 2.4 which has no SC and has 5 speed or 4 speed auto,

SS/SC which is 2.0 with SC and only has 5 speed

2008 and up SS is 2.0 turbo that comes in 5 speed or 4 speed auto option in sedan only

You're silly. Look at the title of the ad.

2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS 5 speed, one owner not supercharged

It says not supercharged, and 5-speed. You got both wrong.. and it's that purple which is a non-SS/SC colour. I only suggested it was a 2.4 auto because you said the car was automatic. If you're confused as to there being a supercharger I understand, but a quick glance into the car straightens out the transmission thing

Okay, for the OP, just install the supercharger on the existing engine. It will be a lot less work. Get in touch with Trifecta for a tune. You will not have to upgrade any of your existing powertrain.

You can't do an engine swap because the ECM isn't compatible with the rest of the car.

GM doesn't care about it, trust me.

im a turbocharged automatic, cant see anything that makes a difference whether it be super or turbo. the tranny can take it fine with a tune and a cooler.

to joemama: i think either 1) you misread it or 2) the poster of the gregslist ad modified a stock automatic cobalt, or 3) the poster of the cregslist ad is an idiot and doesnt know his ****.

Please PM with your build post and everything if you could, I'm very interested in doing this. Unsure about how the tranny would hold up to blower boost though???

^^^ theres a how-to. Becks How To install M62 on 2.4l Cobalt.

Atleast thats what I think its called. Its got a complete parts list.
I also have a how to for supercharging a 2.2 without the parts list, but much more detailed instructions on actually doing the install
