True I just hear a lot of talk of cars going turbo a lot and not to metion there are stilll more turbo cars out there. But to see the GT500 go turbo will be a real big disappointment. not in performance sense but cultural sense.

wtf? no, they use a toyota sourced 1.8 engine. there is an aftermarket company that drop the lsj in the lotus, i think they charge about 20k to do the swap

yea good one, another one i missed. the new mustang is supercharged as well..

OP, are you hearing stuff or just finally paying attention to what cars have what engine?

My bad, I must've misunderstood what I read at the time. I thought Lotus was offering the LSJ in the car as it's own equipment, didn't realize it was another company that did that. Just so I'm not confused even more, that aftermarket company that does this uses the TVS on the LSJ, right? I wanna make sure I'm not mixing up stories somewhere

Single turbo I heard, but I don't keep up on Fords, esp the Taurus of all vehicles. But either way, it's still gonna be slow and probably be plagued with issues on performance upgrades like the Mazda's are.

wonder how the guy in the mustang felt? being s/c'd isn't all about being the fastest tho...when you hear that whine coming, you know. You can't hear a turbo comin at ya usually unless they have a BOV

Well what amazed me is when they did tests and runs against the g35 (maybe g37 can't remember) the g35 (or g37) stock out performed it.

Idk about the mazdas but for some reason whenever you just put a CAI on it gains more hp than any other engine I have heard of. I may be wrong but a friend of mine just got the Mazda intake ( an upgrade) it went from 263 (or 253 once again i can't remember) to almost 300 hp.

No freakin way...not off of just an intake. 5-10 maybe, but there's no way in hell they got either 37 or 47 hp off of just an intake

I was surprised too. But him and other owners (I looked into it) for some reason that engine just breathes a lot better. But normal it would be just 5 to 10. don't quote me on it though.

Also what is crazy is that the new Ford Taurus Sho is also AWD

Nope, one of the lotus's get's an LSJ with a tvs as an upgrade. I think Cole was right, it's an upgrade done by another company.

the new taurus sho uses the ecoboost 3.5l v6. its 365hp twin turbo, and makes that power with 10.2:1 compression on 87 octane. people have already started tuning them, they will make around 410-420 with easy on 92 octane. its a rather impressive motor.

superchargers wont die off, lots of automakers still use them and will in the future.
