supercharger here i come...
Ok so im browsing today at work and finally come across a supercharger. its from 2005 redline, comes with all components and etc. for $750.
with this all said and done. how will my engine operate? will it be just as good as any SS or redline or will my internals screw up on me later in years, such as pistons n valves n rings?
i really need to know soon so if it will work im purchasing it. cuz thats a steal of a deal.

Well I am not sure if the intake manifold for the 2.0 will mat with the 2.2... also I am not sure how your ECU will take to it. It is going to take alot to make it work.

cuz i was told the saturn redlines have low compressioned pistons...

Well make sure you get the injectors and have your computer reflashed to use the 310's. Other than that normal wear on your parts is going to increase with the increase of power but nothing you should really worry about. Just work on mod's to accommodate the boost. Such as a clutch. I also wouldn't start out with the stock pulley. Something alittle bigger to start with wouldn't hurt. I know I'm forgetting something but i'll quit now.

Yeah, where are you getting the ECU from? If you don't have that, you're done for. That's why everyone is waiting for the GM kit, because it will come with everything you need. Right now there's no reflash and you're going to have to custom fab it to fit your intake manifold. What about heat exchanger/intercooler/whatever it is. You're going to need one of those as well.

You might want to get a bigger pulley to run a lower amount of boost. 4-5 lbs of boost would be alright for a non intercooled supercharger on stock internals.

i wish i knew a mechanic than knew the differences and **** so i could purchase this damn S/C because thats one hell of a deal for $750.

ECU would be crucial. All else fails, buy it and wait for the GM supercharger and flash to come out and pay a dealer for just the reflash.

Also the cobalt's supercharger isn't centrifugal, it is roots style.

SS's don't have a centrifugal s/c. They have a roots. And as for the reflash, I don't know whether it is the same as the j-body eco reflash but you could go to the dealership and find out.
