Taking out front seats

Taking out front seats

hey there i attempted to take out my font seats in my ss/sc and replace them with my racing seats but when i went to pop off the cap to get at the bolts they were metal and they would not budge. am i doing something wrong?

I believe theres only 2 caps on the back of the sliderwith two bolts on the back of each seat and all you have to do is undo the bolts and slide the seat out.

the bolts are at the rear of the seat and have a plastic cover over them.

Pop the plastic off and go at the bolt with a socket and wrench.

Easy as easy gets

the bolts should be torqued down pretty hard since the chair remaining in place helps protect you from injury in an accident. You can assume anything related to protecting you in a car accident will be torqued down quite a bit. (the seatbelt bolts on the sides for example are well over 150 ft-lbs each)

The seat bolts are only torqued to 22 lb ft. ove the seat all the way forward and remove the plastic covers at the rear of the seat tracks. They should be 15mm bolts. The front is hooked into the floor.
