test drive

after riding shotgun in a cobalt twice i decided it was time to try one out. i went to a dealer last night and had a whirl on an 06 ss/sc with the G85 package. its kind of surprising how much fun i had. within the first two minutes i had already felt more comfortable with the car then i am with my truck. pedal placement is perfect for heeltoe downshiting and the shifter felt just right. i didnt get on it too hard but i already like the power, quietness, stereo quality, and overall interior quality. one thing i noticed both with the cobalt ss/sc and the ion redline (drove one two days ago) was that in third gear if you lightly push forward on the shifter it feels though its grinding or about to pop. is this common? overall i like the car enough that there may be one in my garage summer 06

Glad you liked it, third gear generally feels that way in the shifter, it's normal.

Congrats on the test drive, and yes that's normal in the shifter. I'm jealous though - I can't heel-toe in the car, the pedals aren't placed right for me. I have to be REALLY hard on the brake pedal to get it low enough to hit the gas.
