test drove the LS

I took a trip over to my friendly local chevy dealer yesterday to try out the 2 cobalts they had on the lot. I picked the red LS just to get a feel for it. My report is as follows:

1) Hold out for the SS if you can. The LS was gorgeous in its own right, but i think that the s/c will be a better investment. The interior was very simple, the selectable odometer/oil life gauge/mpg etc. was really easy and nice to look at. The wheels are pretty hot and it was really comfortable. It was pretty damn sexy sittin in the sun

2) It did lack a little 'get up n go'. Of course I didnt try to floor it and hit the red line, but i did check out its "passing gear" downshift, and i was a bit disappointed.

3) Handling was absolutely superb. Very very very happy in that dept.

4) I know that the SS will be a bit different, but I am 6'5" 220lbs and had PLENTY of leg room and head clearance. Just to alleviate any concerns from we giants.

5) Any info about the lack of oil filter can? I am not a car veteran really, but never had to deal with a "replacable paper filter" in lieu of a can...

All in all, it was a sweet ride and i am sure i would be very happy driving it. However, I am still sticking with the SS. I have lots of pictures and will post up as soon as I can.

Safe driving and a happy new year...

My Alero has one and I haven't had any problem with it. I never change my own oil tho. Cheaper for me to have someone do it for 19.95.
I think it is actually easier to change.

I test drove a 4dr. two weeks ago....problem is the car will be pretty night and day vs. the 2dr. SS. I liked the electric steering alot and just wanted an overall feel for the build quality and colors. The arrival blue is gorgeous!
