SO it was my 18th birthday yesterday n i was drivin down the road and all of i sudden i remembered i could test drive the cobalt ss/sc!! hell yeah...it was even in the color i want to get it -- black
so i went with my friend and took a spin....oh my god it was F*CKING AWESOME!!!!! i asked the salesman if i could step on it and he said i could...damn i down shifted into second and ****** hauled ass...man o man i love that supercharged whine....i'm totally gonna buy this one once i get my enlistment bonus...****...but i have a ?, when i was shifting, it seemed different then all other shifters i have driven...does the cobalt ss/sc have like gates? it was kinda hard to put it in the gears..not too much but i dunno...but yeah..i'm kinda new so any suggestions on what i should and shouldnt get would be great. thanks, -AJ-

The trans is an F-35 unit from a Saab 9-3. Even the shift knob is the same. This transmission is very tight but can tend to feel rubbery while shifting due to the dampening used to lessen the "notchy" feeling some shifters have. I think that may have "overdampened" the feeling a tad but this car shifts like butter if you rev it over 4 - 4.5 K rpm's. The shifter loses feel and the clutch is grabby if you shift at low rpms all the time.
