i ordered a red ss in february and my dealer said, if another comes in before yours you can look at it first and buy it if you want, so they got one in on saturday from the big parade thing at the phillies game friday night and that day they sold it, without even letting us know.

how f-ed up is that. ive been waiting months and someone comes in and takes one.
oh well they did tell me my order was pulled last week but im still angry if i hadnt waitied this long i would drop my order with them and go to another chevy dealer

 

benefit of a doubt? they probably didnt have time...like you said they probably got it in and someone saw it and bought it...its not like they had it promised to you...you have to be patient with dealers, they arent the smartest people in the world sometimes...

 

yeah but it just makes me mad that i've been waiting so long, but i guess it's ok because i ordered ebony inserts and this one had red inserts, its a little too gaudy for me

I can see why the dealership didn't notify you though, its all about making sales. See, when that SS came in, somebody must have come in and been very interested in it. So rather than telling the person that they must wait for your approval, they went ahead and sold it.

So instead of selling just one out of the two cars to you, they sell the first to another customer and then just wait for your order to come in. I wouldn't hold too much of a grudge against them, unless of course your SS S/C doesn't arrive soon

i guess if i was a salesman i would do the same thing i mean 2 car sales are better than one, yeah im definitly happy i'm getting such an awesome car whether it's that one or the one coming to me..plus the one that they just sold was at the phillies game and who knows where else, mine will be right off the truck and no one else will have driven it. you guys are the best, you made me realize i should be happy...i love cobaltss.net!

 

Yea, it wasnt really yours persay...kinda sucks they didn't call you like they said but it probably sold really quick...the sales staff said that the SS came in on Friday morning off the truck and by late afternoon friday they put it onto the showroom floor and 9am Saturday morning I walked in and bought it heres the story!!! LOL

Well...Saturday (April 30, 2005) I went to the dealer to order my SS and they had one that came from the phillies game ( I had previously heard from the saleslady earlier last week), So I pull up she walks out hands me the keys say take it for a spin! Well I did and I loved it I was gonna get it UNTIL I walked into the showroom and there behold a Black SS with the performance package, sunroof and side curtain air bags!!!! I thought to my self this id it!!! So 2 hrs. later I had traded my Sunfire and drove off with my SS!!! And only had the intentions on ORDERING one!!!!

I feel bad who has waited a long time and I just walked in and bought one BUT this car IS WORTH THE WAIT!!!! Trust me on this one!!!!!!

 

If I was a repeat customer and my salesman did that I would be pissed though!!!!!

yeah my dad bought his 2000 suburban at pellegrino chevrolet which is where i ordered from, when we went to order my ss my dad kept saying how much he loved the service there..their moto is. "EXCEEDING YOUR EXPECTATIONS" no they pooped on my expectations.

if i lived in delaware and wanted a blue ss, i would definitly hit you up on that offer

Do you know when your car was built? And does it have all the options that were on hold at the plant?

 

yeah my dad put money down on the car that they ordered for us, i think thats a law...he put 500 dollars down on it.

 

I don't think that there's a law that MAKES you put a deposit on an ordered car. Although 99.99% of dealers will require that you do unless it's an easily saleable item.

I would venture to guess that you weren't the only ordered car customer they told that to. Dealers.
