Thinking of getting an 07 SS

Thinking of getting a 2007 Cobalt SS with 39,000 kms on it. 2.4L engine. Is there anything I need to look for to make sure this is a good buy? Any problems I am going to run into in the near future? Give me your thoughts

In all honesty Dont get it lol. If you want it because you want to a fast car i suggest passing on it. Yes you can make it fast but your gonna spend a few bucks to get it there. Also is it a manual or auto?

Does it come with G85 option or does the 2.4s even come with it?

Im almsot positive you can't get the G85 on the 2.4L

The LS is the lowest (base model)
LT middle
SS/NA Highest (sport in 08)
SS/SC
SS/TC

Make sure the car is full of blinker fluid

seriously tho ask if they got the paper work on oil changes take it for a test drive and romp on it and shift and see if theres any slipping on the clutch. I dont think there is too many problems with the 2.4s

honestly i haven't had many problems just the f'ing brake rotors warp easily check those unless you plan to upgrade anyway and the only other problem i have had is my sunroof drains got clogged btw i have the automatic 2.4 sedan the 2.4 i would say it's not slow but it is pretty fast, faster than a lot of other 4 cylinder cars considering they don't have superchargers or turbochargers 171hp is not bad for stock a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder yea it does lack fast acceleration above 70mph but how often do we use that in my commute i probably peak at 55mph all suburban driving no highway highest speed limit i see in my commute is 40mph

G85 is only available on the SS FI models.

Never heard of it being on a 2.2L or 2.4L either.

Buy a redline...cheaper and no dents on the panels. Looks like a lego car but a tad faster to 60 than the ss/sc (flame shield on) with the lsd (competition package)...it's either from the additional weight or the 17's.

There's no lsd option for the 2.4. No aftermarket that I know of (nor reason besides turbo/super conversion)

I haven't had any unusual problems with my 06 2.4 @36000 miles. What happened to your Sport?

I'll sell my SS/SC with only 9,200 miles on it, and the mods below for 14.5k OBO Fully loaded, XM, OnStar, G85 package....all options. Best SS/SC options you can get.
