a buddy of mine has an SRT-4, its nice, his is a stage 2 tho, so hes pushing i think 300whp
they have the no lift cltuch thing, so they have constant boost.
one thing i must say if you do get it, your being smart for getting rid of the supercharger, and going turbo, but remember this, no matter what, its still a neon, and everyone knows how much of a POS they are!
good luck

Dodge, Chrystler are the same deal.
Dodge has a Neon, and so does Chrystler, and they are both the same name.

its like GM, Chev has the cobalt, Pontiac has the G5, same car.

When it comes to buying a new car, I would not buy for pure performance and hate the exterior. I don't give a damn about fancy interiors, that's probably why I have a cobalt instead of a bmw/mazda. But, honestly I don't like the srt4's looks, still looks like a riced out neon to me, no matter how fast it is.

If you want speed, there's a lot of platforms out there that can be had for a lot cheaper and faster that don't look like a neon.

yeah i know but the srt4 has its own name in the book, from what i have heard nowhere in the papers of the car does it say "neon srt4" but i maybe wrong.

imho the inside of the srt's is nasty but the exterior imo is sex!

And so is the Cobalt SS.

Agreed. If you're getting anything with strictly performance in mind, I don't care but I'm going to say it. If it's FWD, then you're driving the wrong car. Regardless of what it is Cobalt SS, N or C SRT-4, MS3, GTI, RSX-S, etc...

FWD sucks. Go AWD or FWD.

But if you want something that's quicker than the average car, yet still affordable and practical ok then I see what we have as being just fine.

But it seems the OP just is looking at a cheap alternative to what he has now. And is just considering it.

wow- its really clean.
im not a big fan of red-
but i say do it if you like the way it drives and feels.
i was never a real big fan of the srt4's only because my friend had a neon and i just hated it.
but that thing did save his life. he flipped it and rolled about 3 or 4 times and he came out of the car with a paper cut on his finger. that was the scariest thing ive ever seen.
but anyway. i think the srt4s have alot of mods and they are basically like a building car if you want a really fasted supped up car.
i messed around with a turbo one... that thing was quickkkkk.
but i also heard they have alot of problems...

i say do it.
but im not a fan of the red. lol

Its a skittle/F250/Shopping Cart, if you think the car is right for you and you benefit from buying it go for it.

Your in the same neighborhood, but you given it the wrong name. Only two companies that had a Neon was Dodge & Plymouth. We know where Plymouth went. Chrysler is not far behind if not already on the slaughter table. Dodge has crushed several line ups. They have the turbocharged PT Cruiser.

In all they all have the same kind of product.

Everyone's question though is reliability.

Just like the Cobalt...you have some that do nothing but break. Then you have some who have nothing wrong with them.

Anyone know the percentages on the reliability.

I would not mind a SRT4, but like you I question the reliability.

Have you researched the SRT4 forums?

Hey man do what you want. Personally I'm not a fan of Dodge and the way people treated the srt-4 when it came out. It will be rare to find one that didn't have the **** ran out of it

I think it's time for a nice, clean, crisp, rwd v8. It it's worth your time to upgrade.. UPGRADE.
