Not sure why you are including Corvette. It has a reverse lock out.

Other than that... this thread sucks.

with a short throw shifter, the reverse lockout is awesome! you get the most badass clicks from the aluminum parts lol

Im not arguing about something I dont understand, I have more experience with cars and transmissions than you will ever have. Your ******* comment "you could go too far to the right when shifting to 5th" is just plain ignorant.

I like the reverse lockout because people never know how to backup my car which means no one ever wants to drive it lol

I spent way too long yesterday dealing with seized shifter cables in a 2010 guy bought it used, low miles, with a twm shifter. The problem is the cable clamp rotates to suit the aftermarket twm thing. the installer as best i can see clipped the cable clamp and then rotated it under tension to suit the twm shift ball which is vertical not horizontal. eventually the cables gave up from the stress. The shifter housing had been cut up for some reason, it was a mess. New shifters complete are over 230 dollars plus shipping and the cable clamps are not sold seperately. FML I HATE AFTERMARKET BS SHIFTERS. I hope Billet Pro Shop are better, my customers say they are.

the poor guy also had winter tires and wheels with the deal but could not rotate them as there were two different offsets, one pair cleared the brembos one pair did not. and bogus aftermarket lugs so big a thinwall socket had to be used.

Yessir. They're black with red stitching. I love them. Definitely great quality leather.

you can make a list of vendors I really think are the best. like
  • Blackcat Customs AWESOME overlays, LED work and CANADUH EH?
  • Redline Goods? Well you know with a name like REDLINE gotta be the best HUH? I love his stuff, got the shift boots & the e boots. If I didnt have a Sparco steering wheel I would have him do that as well.
  • ZZP well you know. HEADERS? ENGINES ? etc. the best. I buy ALL my intercooler pumps from them priced right.
  • PERFORMANCE AUTOWERKES. Coz Dave and Matty will do anything to help. I dont have a turbo is all...
  • Crate Engine Depot. What a guy! SERVICE PRICE FAST SHIPPING. I cant say enough about TOM. Besides he keeps my YYZ springs in stock.
  • BILLET PRO SHOP I have never seen a BPS shifter, I hate short shifters, but no one has said a discouraging word about them.

Thats all I can think of for now. I got some wheels from a vendor on here a long time ago, really good service and price cant remember who it was....

John, everwhere that TWM fails BPS took the time to correct. Everything that made me wish I had never bought a TWM was corrected when I put in my BPS. I couldn't think more highly of them. Also good guys to talk on the phone,

Canadian bunch, too.

Also if you follow them on Instagram they have some crazy Mustangs that they've built.

Think they have the record for the fastest TVS 6spd GT500

John I was so mad at myself over how bad that TWM was that I called BPS and spoke with them before I bought it. I also wanted a customization done and wanted to see if it was possible. We talked, They were very very friendly and very knowledgeable about the product and understood the change I wanted. They agreed, gave me extremely acceptable pricing so I ordered. When I received it John it was like getting your stuff. My brain to their brain. Couldn't be happier.

I asked, no I begged them for a C5 shifter. No dice.

wow thats awesome. Send an email to devon@powellraceshop.com. I forget who he is using for C5 short shifters. I seem to remember Kirban but that may have been for something else, and the other day he was installing one that looked really nice. I frankly dont pay attention much to the 'vette stuff, he does all that, and I got lots of delta things to play with. I do make some kickass tow hooks for C5 and C6 etc., thats how the tow hook thing started . Have to have it for racing.

i had an 04 cavalier that had the same stupid lockout for reverse. i changed shift knobs and removed it and going down the road it still wouldnt go into reverse if you wanted it to so idk why they put one on there. ive been thinking of doing the same thing to my cobalt as the op because in cold weather like right now when the shifter is cold it will not lift up it takes both my hands and all my arm strength to get it to come up.
