Trade in ???

Well i just got back from test driving a 2004 Ion Redline. All i can say is wow. The sticker on the car is 12999. I owe 12988.80 on my LS. My insurance will DROP 38 bucks w/ the saturn. What do you guys think should i get it? I know its not an SS and this is a cobalt site, but its still an LSJ.

I test drove a redline a while back and was very impressed with them. But then i wanted to stick with a chevy so i went with the ss/sc instead. Very good car for the money. Go for it!

ok so i found out my payoff is 12900 on my ls, which is terrible. the dealer will give me 10500 for my car. so i will be financing like 16000ish w/ tax and title. I looked everwhere for any sign of mods there is NONE. stock pulley, stock exhaust, everything is stock. The dealer will be putting 4 brand new tires on the car wednesday. My payment is going to go up like 50 dollars but my insurance will drop 40, so pretty much the same money being spent every month. and i did a carfax and the only thing on there was the initial purchase from the one and only owner.

Sound good!

BTW, why in the world does your insurance go down if you switch to a redline? I've got to find myself a redline now.

How many miles does the Redline have? If they have to put tires on it, it sounds like a lot of use.
Don't forget you'll be throwing your LS's warranty away (unless you've accumulated lots of miles on it). The Redline may not have any warranty left. Look at more than the go-fast appeal!!

The RL has a little less than 36000 so there is pretty much no warranty left. I purchased an extended warranty w/ my LS and i was told that those warranties can be transfered. Anyone know about that?

You have paperwork on the extended warranty (should have put the paper work with your owners manual or other important paperwork). To be sure in your case, read the warranty to find out what you bought and if it is transferable.

No warrantys can be transferred. But you can cancel the warranty and can get some of your money back. You wont get it all because it is prorated. Just when you trade it in ask for a copy of the trade odometer statement and go back to the dealer that you origanally sold you the cobalt and ask for the person that does cancellations, and tell them that you want to cancel your warranty. You can also cancel your gap insurance and credit life /disability if you have either of them.

Also they are giving you a good amount for your trade. THe price isn't to bad either. do it

Do what you want! But if you blow up the tranny and end up paying $1800 to get it fixed please don't post a "woe-is-me" thread

If it is a big dealership they always keep records of things they fixed b4 putting it on the lot. Ask them for a copy of that. And buy another x-warranty. Make sure its gmpp warranty tho.

When they say it's a transferrable warranty, they mean that it can be transferred to the car's next owner, not that you can transfer it to another car.
