Trade in Value ?

hey guys, Have a question on trade in value, Im just looking for a rough idea what it would be worth, I realize there is some loss, and givin what dealer (brand) I go with could retreive different amounts, but Im just looking for a rough estimate on what I "could" get.

As some of you read, I had a trasmission failure, and GM is not covering it, so ive been strongly thinking about fixing it out of my pocket and getting rid of the car for another brand, but before I jump to conclusions, Id like to get a ball park idea on what another dealer would give me for it (maybe keeping to myself that the trans failed and was replaced )
I would hate to do this, I love the SS, but the service and respect I got is unacceptable.

06 Chev Cobalt SS/SC
2 Months old (give or take a f ew days)
10,000 kms
Payed 26,000 Canadian
absolutly spotless
Needs nothing
Ultra Silver
No Onstar

and thats my main reason to want to get rid of it, having a transmission explode is 6 weeks is not what I was looking for, and the service and help I am getting with the situation is beyond poor.
givin whats happened in such a short period of time, I beleive its better for me to get rid of the car asap, GM already lost me as a customer

I don't know if it applies to Canada but you can get the trade in on KBB.com or NADA.com. Then the dealer will lowball that by a few thousand and then when you show them the amount from the Kelly Blue Book they tell you those sites aren't accurate and that they can get the same car at at auction for some rediculously low price.

I looked up the Kelly bluebook trade in value on your car where I live in Louisiana and got $20,150 USD. Good luck getting that from a dealer, though. You would probably get a better trade from a GM dealer, but since you now hate GM, try to find a dealership chain that sells several brands, including GM.

yah, I highly doubt I will get any where near that number, im just looking for a ball park number before I look into it futher, as you all can imagine, I dont want to take a massive loss, but a loss might be worth it right now.

PS: G5mike, im on the other side of the country, lol
